BAPTIZED TODAY! LUCAS DAVID BROWNE.
Lucas was born here in Virginia on August 30 of this year. His parents are Andrew and Abbey Browne, and his big sister is Ella, age 2. Lucas’ Baptismal Sponsor is Katrina Drinnon. We are delighted to welcome Lucas into the family of God!
VOTER ALERT!
There is a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution this November, euphemistically referred to as “Virginis’s Reproductive Rights Amendment.” It worsens Virginia’s already heinous “right” to abort a baby up to the moment of birth. This amendment, among other things, removes the right of parental involvement in abortion decisions in the case of minor children. It removes any safeguards in the consideration of a 3rd trimester abortion, and it eliminates any possibility for a health care provider to resist participation in performing an abortion for conscience reasons. Consider these things when voting for or against the Virginia Constitution Amendment in the November 3 election.
CAN YOU HELP SOMEONE MOVE BY OCTOBER 31?
We have a truck. We can use some volunteers. The move will be from a senior citizens residence not far from the church to a similar facility in Woodbridge. See Pastor Knill.
LUTHERANS FOR LIFE NOTE:Reformation Day –
Our freedom from slavery to sin comes through the Son of God being nailed to a tree (John 8). The righteousness of God has come to us by faith. This sets us free from sin and also sets us free to love God and love our neighbors. The life we have from God, we live for the benefit of others (Romans 3). In so doing, we give glory to God for all that He has done for us (Revelation 14)LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR A LUTHERAN WITNES SUBSCRIPTION.
Subscriptions to this great little magazine are $26 per year. Articles provide encouragement in living the Christiaan life and also keep you up to date in what is going on in our church body, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. New subscribers can sign up on the narthex bulletin board.
